Which of the following has both an endocrine and exocrine function?
Pancreas are both exocrine and endocrine glands ; they are exocrine glands because they secrete products – pancreatic juice and endocrine because they secrete other substances directly into the blood stream.
Adrenal,Pituatary, Ovaries and Pancreas secrete their hormones directly into the blood but among them Pancreas also secretes pancreatic amylase which is helpful in digestion. Therefore Pancreas is an endo as well as exocrine gland.
The pancreas is both an endocrine and exocrine organ because it both secretes hormones and digestive enzymes into the small intestine.
