Hobbies

Victor Kress usually talks stingily of his spare time, saying that there is no time for hobbies after a 14-16 hours working day. His hobbies include skiing, reading, singing in the circle of family and close friends. But the best recreation, says Kress, is work at the dacha.

Actually, Victor Kress does not have his own dacha. On week-ends and holidays, together with the family he goes to parents-in-law who live in the village where he worked as a sovkhoz director when he was young. There he works in the vegetable garden, helps about the house.

"There are some kinds of work which are done only by me. For example, tomatoes side-shoot removal, neither my wife, nor my mother-in-law know how to do it. And some other delicate works, for example, dosing." As Victor Melkhiorovich says, there is almost no time, but he manages to find 3-4 hours on week-ends. "I start changing into working cloths already in the car to manage to do everything."

When Victor Kress was young, he was keen on weightlifting, played the guitar and sang. Then, he gave up weightlifting and guitar playing, but still loves singing. He knows many songs, especially folk ones.

Victor Kress has another hobby, a secret one. He preserved cooking skills since his youth and later developed them. If he has time, he likes cooking and giving his family a treat with something special, cooked by his own recipes. They say that no one among the governors can match him in cooking fish.
