The governor has told to the Chairman of the Government about the social and economic situation in the region. In particular, their conversation has concerned the idea of creation in Tomsk a federal centre of innovations, researches and workings out. Vladimir Putin has charged to the minister of economic development Elvira Nabiullina to make offers on creation of such centre in Tomsk.

Today in the regional administration at a joint session of Security Council and the Antiterrorist Commission of the Tomsk region have been discussed security measures in preparation and carrying out in Tomsk XIII All-Russia Innovative forum with international participation.

On May, 2nd in Moscow, in the Petrovsky Putevoi palace, the meeting of governors of Russia and Japan has taken place. The head of the Tomsk region among the Russian governors has been invited to this meeting.

After 65 years for fighting feats and the merits accomplished in the Great Patriotic War, the state award — an award of Glory of III degree, is handed over to Savin Feodor Zaharovich who has rescued the Fighting Banner of the regiment during a fight, on April, 6th, 1945.
