The sacred Synod of Russian Orthodox Church at the session on the 24th of December, 2008 has expressed gratitude to the governor of Tomsk oblast Victor Kress and to the archbishop of Tomsk and Asino Rostislav for works on the organization and carrying out of Educational readings of the Siberian federal district.

Participants of meeting have discussed operative conditions and results of counteraction to illegal circulation of drugs on the territory of Tomsk oblast.

On the 10th of December, in the village Semiluzhki of Voronino rural settlement of Tomsk oblast the inauguration of an oil refining factory with volume of processing more than 300 thousand tons of oil a year has taken place.
